Trip up the river to Blanchetown

We headed up yesterday to Blanchetown with Mike and his folks for a day of river activity. No jetskis this time around altho Mike scabbed a run on a Seadoo from the guys next to us on the bank.

It got pretty hot real early and the girls looked like they needed to be cooled down. As a responsible parent, I had no choice but to step in.

Sure'N and I had a quick blast. I think Sure'N was trying to squeeze too hard on the rope.

I beat you gravity... well just a little.

Coming into shore...

Heading out in the boat...

Drinking man's beer in a girlie stubbie holder.

Keely said something scary, and Mike and I couldn't withstand it any longer!

Mike having a quick lean...
Keely wanted to have a go at kneeboarding. She did pretty well for a first time.

Lana took a great angle on these shots (too lazy to get out of the front seat more like it) so you can't see me holding on from the back to keep the board steady.

Burnouts on the river...

All in all, another great day lazing about on the river!

Trip to Edithburgh

Spent the before Christmas at Edithburgh. Rachel and Greg, plus a few friends. The girls had a ball with them running riot throughout the entire caravan park like a mini pack of bicycle fiends.

On the Wednesday, Adrian, Anthony, Greg and myself spent the day on a fishing charter. We bagged out early on Nanaguy, but the rest of the day was pretty slow. To make matters worse, there was only West End Draught on board. I guess that was there in case they ran out of diesel and needed emergency refuelling.

The Edithburgh tidal pool was a great place to learn to snorkel. We pinched Greg's gear and went for a swim. Great fun, so we decided to buy some gear for ourselves.

On Thursday there was an awesome cookup of a stack of fish, using my secret pale ale batter (not so secret now - 6 eggs, one warm bottle of Coopers Pale Ale and about 2 cups of flour. I check the consistency using a fork - if the batter sticks to the tines, but not in between the tines, then its ready to go. If the tines stay covered with batter, add more Pale). I think I ate about 4 fillets while cooking, let alone later on.

The last day there, we spent up big in the local surf shop. I can't recommend this place any more, the owner was very helpful, and literally forced us to open packets until we found masks that fit. Any one heading to Edithburgh, stop in a have a browse!

Anyway, we had a stack of snorkel gear for the kids and we spent most of the day at Sultana Point beach looking for interesting things under the water.
