David Gemmel - A Legend

I only in this last hour discover to my horror and sadness that my favourite author, David Gemmell, died of complications to heart surgery on Thursday 28th July, 2006.

Bec was asking me for a idea for a present she wanted to buy me for our 10th Wedding Anniversary, so I thought I would look and see if the latest in Gemmell's Troy series was published yet.

I was shocked to discover that he had died prior to the publishing even of the second book in the series. His wife, with extensive character notes and some 70,000 written words already completed by Davie, will endevour to complete the last book in the series in a manner that I am sure would make David proud.

Reading Legend to this day still brings a tear to my eye.
