Offline Files with Windows XP

I had a client today that had an issue with offline files. His machine originally connected to another fileserver in Portugal, and had an offline file setup with that server. Everytime I tried to remove the entry for that server, it would come back the next time the PC rebooted.

Instead the trick it this:

Open c:\windows\csc (hidden folder)

Make sure that the offline files is NOT enabled (Tools\Folder Options\Offline Files and remove tick from Enable Offline Files option)

Install UnLocker tool (google search for it)

Delete all of the files in the CSC folder, and use unlocker to unlock the 3 database files that are left and then delete them.

Reenable Offline Files and there you go...
