PGA Cruise February 2007

Another PGA cruise held today (well by the time I post this, it is yesterday) in scorching conditions. Nathan organised a great route, with plenty of spots along the way to be able to see the convoy of cars snaking their way to the lunch destination of the Oakbank Hotel.

Saturday river run to Walker's Flat

Mike invited me up for a quick river run to Walker's on Saturday afternoon. We got there around 1:30pm, nearly 40 degree temperature, and glass like conditions on the water. Robert brought up the Matrix, Mike the 2 jetskis, and away we went.

Everything was loaded into the Matrix to avoid having to come back to the ramp to top up with supplies:

All in all - one of the best trips up to Walker's for quite some time!

Bec's car accident

There was Bec, innocently minding her own business, waiting for a car ahead of her to complete a right hand turn, when bang, all of a sudden comes someone's skyline wagon smashing into the back.

Fortunately the car should be repairable, and all persons involved have escaped with only bruises.

On the other hand, it took me only 35 minutes to travel home back from Woodcroft once I got the phone call :)

Well, picked up my canon s3 powershot today from canon, paying for the repair that I am still convinced I did not cause. Surprised to see that the camera was handed to me in a clear plastic bag - with no apparent protection from knocks or the like.

Then, I get home, put some batteries in to discover that the replaced LCD screen has 2 small blotches or imperfections. Not dead pixels, each about 4-5 pixels in size. Maybe its just dirt, but apparently one of the things I paid for was "cleaning", so its just another reason I have to never buy a canon product again.

Took great joy in filling out the "Customer Satisfaction" form, which will be mailed tomorrow.

So another return to canon and no doubt another 3 weeks before its ready again...
